Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Four (4) years’ experience in a responsible capacity using accounting/office skills
- Working knowledge of software system for customer account management and district-based software
- Ability to interpret and apply rules, regulations and policies in regard to the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs, Summer Food Service Program, Summer Seamless Option, After School Snack Program and Community Eligibility Provision
- Experience in training individuals and groups in procedures and regulations applicable to their job duties
- Ability and willingness to understand, follow, and give written and oral instructions
- Professional training equivalent to Associate’s degree *Preferred
Performance Responsibilities:
- Accounts for the revenues and expenditures of the Food and Nutrition Services Department.
- Monitors all financial data and prepares financial reports in accordance with regulations.
- Develops and manages the system related to collection of fees.
- Confirms vendor prices against bid-approved prices on received invoices (e.g. food, equipment) prior to submission to Finance for payment.
- Verifies items, prices, and quantities on weekly vendor invoices and direct office staff to seek corrections if necessary.
- Provides authorization to Finance for reimbursement to employees for purchase of specialized employee uniform items (e.g. safety shoes and gloves).
- Completes the annual Child Nutrition Program Sponsor Application and site agreements for submittal to the State Agency for approval.
- Coordinates submission of the monthly Meal Count Claim to the State Agency for the state and federal reimbursement funds.
- Oversees annual processing of student meal benefits applications.
- Verifies a percentage of approved meal benefits applications, annually.
- Trains school personnel regarding their role in the management of the meal benefits system for students.
- Manages monthly reports for homeless, migrant, runaway youths and children, directly-certified for free meal benefits from the State Agencies.
- Performs purchase order receiving and approval.
- Composes and sends correspondence to parents in regard to the National School Breakfast and Lunch programs.
- Provides training to new office staff for software use and individual office duties.
- Maintains effective working relationships with other employees.
- Performs other job-related functions as assigned.
