Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Passing score on ParaPro exam, or at least 60 semester hours of college credit.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Successful experience in teaching, counseling, social work or coaching in a related area preferred
*Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Provides students with an orientation to the in-school suspension program.
- Assigns and returns class work received from the referring teacher.
- Provides students with approved academic/behavioral learning materials.
- Monitors the academic and behavioral progress of students.
- Creates a positive classroom atmosphere conductive to learning while enforcing appropriate classroom, school, and district rules and regulations.
- Performs assigned duties related to student safety (i.e. bus duty, parent pickup, walkway safety, lunchroom duty, field trips).
- Monitors progress of students who complete the in-school suspension program.
- Assists with the annual evaluation of the in-school suspension program.
- Performs other duties consistent with the job goal.
