Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or equivalent
- Five (5) years school and/or district-level administrative experience
- Mastery of Business English, technical writing, grammar, and usage
- Combination of training/experience which provides a working knowledge of Administrative Rules, Statutes, Regulations, and School Board Policies
- Florida certification requirements in Administration and Supervision or Educational leadership
- SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification* Preferred
*Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Assists with supervision of hiring, onboarding, maintaining position control and separating employees from employment through termination, resignation, or retirement.
- Coordinates the employment process for new personnel.
- Coordinates personnel record maintenance.
- Serves as Equity Officer and Title IX.
- Serves as a member of the District Bargaining Teams.
- Assists the Chief Negotiator with collective bargaining strategy development and execution.
- Serves as a resource for other administrators to ensure compliance with: collective bargaining agreements, school board policy, and state and federal labor relation laws.
- Monitors the non-instructional substitute process.
- Prepares and distributes recruiting materials and coordinates recruitment activities with an emphasis on critical shortage area teachers.
- Serves as a resource for employees and administers programs and procedures for retirement and unemployment claims.
- Establishes and monitors a position control system.
- Monitors the certification status of instructional and administrative employees, including out-of-field instructional staff.
- Supervises and monitors the fingerprinting reporting process from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the F.B.I as well as oversees the internal process or reviewing negative fingerprint and drug testing results.
- Provides career and retirement counseling services for employees.
- Reports regularly to the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Labor Relations on any developments or situations within the district requiring awareness or action.
- Councils and advises applicants as well as probationary and permanent personnel.
- Assists in wage, salary, and benefit administration.
- Attends School Board meetings and prepares reports and presentations as required.
- Performs other job-related functions as assigned.
