Qualifications:
- Florida childcare director's credential
- Minimum of three (3) years working in a professional leadership role
- Master’s degree in Early Childhood or related field
- Experience with Early Childhood Education, federal and state programs
- Valid Florida teacher certification in Early Childhood Education, Prekindergarten/Primary Education, or Elementary Education
- Florida Educational Leadership certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching experience in Early Learning programs
*Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of the District Early Learning programs to include voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK).
- Assumes the sole administrative responsibility of Early Learning programs at Baker and Hope Center
- Shares administrative responsibility with school principals of Early Learning programs at elementary schools.
- Plans, implements, evaluates, and grows the Early Learning Programs within the District.
- Provide curricular and instructional support for all early learning programs, to include beforecare, aftercare, and summer early programs.
- Ensure a quality program is provided with attention to safety and security.
- Assumes responsibility for the implementation and observance of all Board Policies and regulations.
- Coordinates the recruiting, screening, hiring, training, assigning, disciplining, evaluating, and recommending termination of staff, according to established procedures.
- Assumes responsibility for the attendance, conduct, and health of students.
- Supervises the preparation of grants and reports to meet district, state and federal requirements.
- Provides resources and support to teacher and family to encourage the parent-engagement requirements of early learning programs.
- Facilitates the organization and operations of program advisory councils.
- Assists in planning, delivering and evaluating professional learning, and other in-service programs, including Child Development Associates credentials.
- Collaborates with other Early Learning programs in the district and community.
- Collaborates with schools and agencies to provide developmentally appropriate programs and to utilize community resources to meet the needs of children and families being served.
- Performs other job-related functions as assigned.
